Description of that level
Dr. Cossack is the villain this time! This level, made in Mega Man Maker version 1.8, is the seventh stage in Round 3 of my Classic-style Stages.
I really enjoyed making this one. Although I had some issues with 1.8's water mechanics, it turned out alright, and the Hogales crashing and blowing up are a nice surprise. I think it's fun that they've ''malfunctioned''!
This level really came about because I really wanted to do another sort of water level, seeing that the last one I had done was Pump Man Stage in Round 1.
When I had used the water level crystals in Pump Man Stage, I knew I was purposefully leaving out other things I could do with it. I didn't want to reach, say, Round 8 or 9 and feel like I had already done everything I could possibly do with that stage mechanic. I created this level in just the same feel: to distill the stage down to its essentials to allow for more creativity later on.
While I don't think that it was a very good paradigm for level-building, this level is still quite good compared to some of my others. Creativity is stronger with limitations, so I guess it doesn't really matter whether I limit myself now, or later, just as long as I continue to be creative and make good levels.
