i have explored this level TOP TO BOTTOM and i cannot find the third key.
on my first playthrough, i found the hidden key with the 1-up, and then i backtracked using item-2 to backtrack through one-tile gaps. this is how i found a second key.
on my second playthrough, i SOMEHOW managed to figure out that there's a random opening in the ceiling that you can jump into to teleport to the screen above, which was apparently the intended way to find the second key. from looking really hard, i also noticed that there's a water pit that doesn't have shadows, and gives you super arm, but i wasn't able to find any other secrets using super arm. so i'm stumped.
also, dropping the player straight into a pit with no warning is bad design.
